For us it was one week in advance. The staff is kind and offer good wine! The amount and quality of the food are excellent! The only downside has been the missing spot to park the car. Restaurant needs to have private place for this marvelous restaurants! Please come to enjoy a nice moment and share with the people you love!"

"Good local pearl. You need to know where it is. It is in a small fishing community. They have a wide variety of selection on the menu. Staff very amicable and great food quality. Had the stuff squid on linguini, it was very filling."

"On a family vacation on the Cote d’Azur in the south of France, my family stopped at l’Escale Restaurant on the water in Toulon. Your first impression is that this is a restaurant from one of the Greek Isles, like Santorini. There is a myriad of uneven, winding steps down to the water’s edge and the restaurant’s outdoor patio is only visible at the last turn of the stairs. Score ten out or ten for visual appeal – the patio is right on a small Mediterranean inlet, Anse de Mejan, and you can watch people swimming, fishing and paddle-boarding nearby. It’s visually beautiful. You really need reservations for l’Escale unless you arrive off-peak hours. We were a party of five adults and one infant who had phoned several times en route to Toulon and the restaurant was very accommodating to our needs. L’Escale was very busy when we arrived but the service was immediate, very welcoming and charming. Our server even explained the recent issues they were dealing with in the washroom and suggested we all have a drink – ten out of ten for personality. We all ordered drinks which were excellent and then the main courses. Between the four adults, we ordered dorado (the full fish, the catch of the day, which they served filleted with the head), the seared teriyaki tuna, Thai salad and gambas (large Mediterranean shrimp) salad. All of the dishes were excellent, and the servings were very generous. The salad ingredients and dressings were fresh and very tasty. L’Escale is one of the best restaurants we have experienced on our French vacation and is one not to be missed!"
